Commercial Licensing Framework Development

The Commercial Licensing Framework Discussion Paper (“Discussion Paper”) is intended to provide a broad overview of commercial licensing, its intentions, and how these frameworks typically operate. It covers the concept of municipal commercial licensing, as well as reasons for their adoption.

The Discussion Paper also aims to provide a clear understanding of how commercial licensing functions within municipalities by detailing the types of businesses typically licensed and the standard process, including application procedures, licensing fees, inspections, and enforcement mechanisms. Through this Discussion Paper, the Township of King seeks public input to guide the development of a framework that is impactful to the community and aligned with local priorities.
