King Environmental Action Team

The King Environmental Action Team (KEAT) will be established to implement actions set out by the Community Services Division and to address ongoing climate change, environmental stewardship, and other environmental issues within the Township of King. Environmental actions will be undertaken by Team members with the assistance of Community Services staff, to enhance and conserve the natural environment of King Township and support climate change mitigation efforts. More specifically, the KEAT will act as a link between citizens and Township Staff to address and to assist in implementing projects that will enhance the local community such as:

1. Environmental outreach, public awareness, promotion; and
2. The promotion of greenspace, environmental restoration, and enhancement projects; and
3. Address climate change and sustainability issues impacting King Township; and
4. Help in obtaining grant funding to support local community lead environmental projects.

We are currently seeking interested community groups, residents, and schools to join the KEAT. We are asking interested individuals to contact us at environmentalstewardship@king.ca to be put on a mail out list. In October 2023, Community Services Division Staff will reach out to all those who contacted us and inform them of the application process to join the KEAT.
