King invites residents to take part in our 2nd virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) for our Comprehensive Stormwater Management Master Plan on Thursday April 1, 2021, 12:00 pm - 2:30pm.
King held PIC#1 on November 27, 2020 where we discussed the problem/opportunity statement for the stormwater infrastructure as a result of land use changes and developments within the Township. Following the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process, we conducted an analysis of the alternative solutions using the feedback received during PIC #1. We are now ready to present and discuss the preferred solution to ensure the required level-of-service of stormwater infrastructure can be provided throughout the Township.
At the virtual meeting, you will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as share your thoughts/opinions. We also encourage participants to complete a comment sheet by clicking on the Comment Sheet tab or downloading the Microsoft Word version under the Documents widget and submitting to kingstormwatermasterplan@civi.ca. The comment period will remain open for 2 weeks following the PIC.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Public Information Centre will be held virtually. Here’s how to participate:

With the PIC #1 completed where the project team discussed the problem and opportunity statement regarding the storm water management within King, our consultant is developing preferred solutions for each of the management units within the Township based on the comments and feedback we obtained. Once the preferred solutions are finalized we are aiming to have the next PIC April 1st. 2021, where again we are looking forward to the community’s input and comments. More details to follow regarding PIC #2 and registration.

King Township is looking for public feedback on its draft Stormwater Master Plan (SMP).
A review and analysis of King’s stormwater infrastructure is now underway. This will result in the development of a comprehensive Stormwater Master Plan to support the Township growth scenarios as outlined in the new Official Plan.
This master plan will provide analysis to ensure that the required level of service to handle the anticipated growth can be provided throughout the Township. A Municipal Class Environmental Assessment has been undertaken to guide this process.
A key component of the Environmental Assessment is public consultation. As stormwater runoff directly affects residents of King, it is crucial to understand the current issues faced by residents to build a plan that benefits everyone.
King invites residents to take part in a virtual Public Information Centre on Fri., Nov. 27 at 12 pm in order to become familiar with the project and voice any concerns or questions.
“Planning ahead is a key component to ensuring King continues to grow in a measured, responsible and sustainable manner,” said King Township Mayor Steve Pellegrini. “Gathering as much feedback from residents is another key component. I encourage everyone to get involved in planning the future of our community by attending the Public Information Centre.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Public Information Centre will be held virtually. How to participate:
•Registration for this PIC can be done by sending your name and address to kingstormwatermasterplan@civi.ca.
•Please complete a comment sheet which can be found on the project website at http://stormwatermasterplan.king.ca.
A second Public Information Centre will be held in early 2021 to present proposed solutions.
