King Township updated Transportation Master Plan now complete, open for public review

King Township has reached an important milestone in the finalization of its updated Transportation Master Plan (TMP), a long-range strategy that will guide transportation planning and infrastructure investment to the year 2051.

A 30-day public review period begins today. The community is invited to review the completed Transportation Master Plan at speaking.king.ca.

The TMP is a key strategic document that supports how the Township plans, manages, and invests in its transportation network over the short, medium, and long term. It considers future growth, road improvements, active transportation, transit, goods movement, traffic safety, and coordination with regional and provincial transportation planning.

The updated TMP reflects significant work completed by the Township through technical review, public consultation, Council engagement, and coordination across several transportation-related priorities. It builds on previous transportation planning work while responding to updated growth forecasts, changing travel patterns, new infrastructure needs, and emerging community priorities.

As King continues to grow, the TMP will help ensure the transportation network remains efficient, safe and sustainable, while supporting the Township’s broader goals for livability and economic development.

The plan also supports future capital planning and Development Charges work by identifying recommended transportation improvements, project timing, and high-level costing needed to help guide future infrastructure investment.
