Protecting Trees on Private Property

Consultation has concluded

Trees are a key part of our community, as they provide many benefits to residents and visitors alike. It is important for us to maintain and increase our urban tree canopy as King continues to grow. We thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions about healthy private trees, and how we can best protect them through our public consultation period.

The consultation period was open from July 18th, 2019 to September 20th, 2019 to receive feedback from the public on a Draft Private Tree By-law. The proposed Draft Private Tree By-law only applies to healthy private trees located within the three Village Communities of King City, Nobleton, and Schomberg. You can review the report from the June 10th, 2019 meeting of Committee of the Whole for more information about the Draft By-law.
