Update: Our King Official Plan Review Progress and Next Steps

King Township continues to make steady progress on the Our King Official Plan Review, a key initiative that will guide growth, development, and community building across the Township for years to come. As work on the project advances, we are providing an update on the review process and anticipated milestones.

As part of the current project schedule:

• A Draft Official Plan is anticipated to be released in January 2027.
• A series of Public Open Houses are planned for February 2027, providing residents, stakeholders, and community partners with an opportunity to review the draft and learn more about the proposed policy directions.
• A Statutory Public Meeting is anticipated in March 2027, where members of the public will have the opportunity to provide formal comments on the Draft Official Plan.
• Council adoption of the new Official Plan is targeted for June 2027.

These milestones represent important opportunities for the community to stay informed and participate in shaping the future of King Township. Public input remains a critical part of the Official Plan Review process, helping to ensure the plan reflects local priorities and community values.
