King Township has initiated a review of its zoning for the rural areas and hamlets within the Township, which are currently regulated by the Township’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law 74-53, as amended. The outcome of this review is anticipated to be a new comprehensive Rural Area Zoning By-law. The rural area encompasses the Countryside and Hamlet designations, as well as the Nobleton Village Reserve Lands (shown in yellow, on the map). The rural area excludes the urban Villages of King City, Nobleton and Schomberg.

Purpose of this Map

The Project Team wants to learn more about the various businesses, rural uses and characteristics of King’s diverse hamlet, rural and agricultural areas. We would appreciate the opportunity for residents to share their knowledge about the Township, as follows:

  • Through the Rural Zoning By-law Review, the Project Team will be able to refine the zoning by-law’s requirements for farming operations, including permitting value-added uses to support the farm. An understanding of businesses and farming uses in the Township will help us to develop a new Zoning By-law that is reflective of King’s leadership in agriculture. We invite you to drop a green pin to describe your business or agricultural operation to help inform our team’s understanding of agricultural operations in King.
  • We also invite you to use the Interactive Map to identify other matters that you would like to bring to the Project Team’s attention. We invite you to drop a blue pin to indicate any other comments or issues you would like to indicate on the map.
