The Township of King is embarking on a planning exercise to establish a vision, plan and implement land use regulations to guide redevelopment for priority core areas within the Villages of King City and Nobleton.
These areas make up important parts of our community and include many of the essential amenities that make living in King so desirable. This project will involve the community to help define the future of these areas.
This project includes the following core components:
Shared Visioning Exercise to establish the long-term vision for King City and Nobleton by identifying opportunities and goals to support the redevelopment of the priority areas.
Neighbourhood Plans that establish the framework to guide redevelopment and illustrate the redevelopment opportunities of the areas.
Official Plan Amendment and Community Planning Permit System (CPPS) to implement the vision and establish the enabling policies for the CPPS and CPP By-law(s)
The CPPS will help to achieve the Our King Official Plan’s vision of a unified Township comprised of complete communities that are healthy, sustainable, and economically prosperous, while recognizing the unique character of each Village.
Join the conversation!
There will be several opportunities for you to provide feedback and input into the vision, Neighbourhood Plans and CPP By-law(s). Stay tuned for more information.

The Project Team is pleased to announce the initiation of the Doctors Lane and the Old King Road Neighbourhood Plan Study.
The Study will provide an opportunity to develop a vision for the draft Doctors Lane and Old King Road Study Areas, to be implemented as through a Community Planning Permit System (CPPS) for the Study Areas. The draft Study Areas have been identified as they comprise key portions of the Core Areas of the Villages of King City and Nobleton, as well as municipally owned lands in proximity to the Cores. The lands within the Study Areas include a number of prominent buildings, including cultural heritage resources and lands that may be considered for redevelopment in both the long- and short-term.
As we start this project, the Project Team invites you to check out the following video to learn more about the purpose of the Neighbourhood Plans.
There will be many opportunities to get involved in developing the vision for these key locations. To get involved and stay informed, sign up for updates on the SpeaKING project page, or contact the Project Team at policyplanning@king.ca. We look forward to hearing from you as we begin this exciting initiative!
